Boulevard Big BandSM
The Boulevard Big BandSM was created to present the great big band music of the 40's through the 70's to live audiences. While the recordings of these bands are invaluable pieces of any jazz enthusiast's collection, nothing can replace the spirit and enthusiasm of a live performance in front of a responsive audience. |
While we have, in the past, performed for many different occasions under many different names, the Boulevard Big BandSM, now performs exclusively under it's own name. In a recent concert before the Independence Day fireworks in New Providence, NJ we had the audience dancing in the aisles (actually on the 35 yard line) to Duke Ellington's Take the "A" Train, Stan Kenton's Opus in Pastels, Count Basie's Blues in Hoss' Flat, a medley of hits from the Dorsey Brothers bands and Louis Prima's Jump, Jive & Wail. Click on these pictures for more photos from our July 2 concert. The Boulevard Big Band's personnel has performed with many of the top entertainers, both jazz and popular. |
